GREENS SAY YES TO TRAMS, NO TO AIRPORT ‘VANITY’ PROJECT

Greens today supported the funding of trams in a parliamentary vote which united all opposition parties and resulted in the government declaring that it would now fund the tram scheme for Edinburgh. Greens also welcomed the SNP government’s intention to examine the Edinburgh Airport Rail Link (EARL) project in more detail and to look at alternatives. (more…)

Greens will propose an alternative way forward in tomorrow’s debate(Wednesday 27th) in the Scottish Parliament on transport. Greens back trams, and have lodged an amendment proposing an examination of alternatives to the Edinburgh Airport Rail Link. (more…)

GREEN FORTH OIL THREAT LAW TO BE BROUGHT BEFORE PARLIAMENT

Greens welcome confirmation of a move to give Ministers new powers over controversial ship to ship oil transfer proposals for the Firth of Forth, now published as a draft Statutory Instrument by the Scottish government and lodged with the parliament for consideration and approval before the summer parliamentary recess.
