Details of Southside/Newington Campaign

Southside/Newington is one of 17 new council wards which have been set up for the council elections in May 2007. Each ward will have 3 or 4 councillors to represent it. Southside/Newington will have 4. Read here about Steve Burgess’ campaign in Southside/Newington.

You can see a map of the new ward here . It covers a much larger area than most current council wards. It stretches from Blackford Hill in the south to Dynamic Earth in the north east, taking in the previous wards of Southside, Newington and Prestonfield, almost all of Sciennes ward and parts of Holyrood ward. The new ward includes diverse residential areas like Dumbiedykes, the Grange and Pollock Halls. It also includes half of the Meadows.

Dr. Steve Burgess is the Green candidate in Southside/Newington.
