The European election was on 22 May 2014, and the lead candidate for the Scottish Greens was Maggie Chapman. National results are here.
In Edinburgh the Greens polled 16.1% (22,836 votes) – putting us a clear fourth, way ahead of the Lib Dems (12,575 votes) and UKIP (10,992 votes) and only a little behind the Tories in vying for third place in the capital. Polling at that level would see 2 Green MSPs returned to Lothian in 2016 and around 11 Green councillors in Edinburgh in 2017.
