Foutainbridge / Craiglockhart Local Green Team
Welcome to Fountainbridge / Craiglockhart Local Green Team
We are made up of local Green Party members and other green or community-minded people in the council ward of Fountainbridge / Craiglockhart. We meet every couple of months or so in the area, to talk about ideas, plan campaigns or simply as a social get-together.
We aim to be an informal group but we have three “office-bearers”:
- Gavin Corbett - Convenor (read Gavin’s “Ten Questions” in the Evening News)
- Susan Guest - Secretary
- Alex Stuart - Communications
So far we have held an open meeting about waste and re-use in the area, attended community councils in Merchiston, Craiglockhart and Hutchison (as well as the South West Neighbourhood Partnership) and helped our fellow Green members in the adjacent ward of Meadows / Morningside deliver 15,000 newsletters!
We are looking at a number of campaigns in the future and social get-togethers in a local pub.
We also arranged a guided walk, suitable for ages 8 weeks - 80 years, in Craiglockhart Woods at 10.30am on Saturday 24 May. As thanks to Craiglockhart Woods Group we are also publicising their fete on 14 June.
Thanks for those of who took part in our campaign to save Shandon Post Office. Unfortunately, the Post Office has now said the branch closes in late November.
