Welcome to Fountainbridge / Craiglockhart Local Green Team
We are made up of local Green Party members and other green or community-minded people in the council ward of Fountainbridge / Craiglockhart. We meet every couple of months or so in the area, to talk about ideas, plan campaigns or simply as a social get-together.
Our last meeting was a social get-together at the Caley Sample Rooms, Angle Park Terrace, at 8pm on Wednesday 4 November 2009. We are now planning the next Green Fair on 27 February 2010

We aim to be an informal group but we have three “office-bearers”:
- Gavin Corbett - Convenor (read Gavin’s “Ten Questions” in the Evening News)
- Clare Forteath - Secretary
- Alex Stuart - Communications
So far we have held an open meeting about waste and re-use in the area, attended community councils in Merchiston, Craiglockhart and Hutchison (as well as the South West Neighbourhood Partnership) and helped our fellow Green members in the adjacent ward of Meadows / Morningside deliver 15,000 newsletters!
We are looking at a number of campaigns in the future and social get-togethers in a local pub.
We also arranged a guided walk, suitable for ages 8 weeks - 80 years, in Craiglockhart Woods - thanks to Craiglockhart Woods Group.
Thanks for those of who took part in our campaign to save Shandon Post Office. Unfortunately, the Post Office has now said the branch closes in late November.
Thanks to everyone who came to our community ceilidh on 15 November 2008.
We have been involved in organising the Tollcross Green Fair on 7 February 2009 and, as individuals, in setting up Shandon Local Food Group.
