Green activist wins Edinburgh’s student crown
Scottish Green Party activist, Adam Ramsay, has become student president of Edinburgh University, with a sweeping victory over rivals.
Standing with support from Greens, SNP and socialists, Adam took almost half of the votes in a four way contest, easily outstripping candidates who were Labour and Conservative members and an Independent candidate.
Student activists believe that Adam’s vote was one of the highest ever achieved in a student election in the UK.
The results are as follows
Gabe Arafa First Round: 1070 Second Round: 1226
Harry Cole First Round: 624 Second Round: 682
