The Scottish Election 2011 saw Cllr Alison Johnstone elected as Green MSP for Lothian.
The Greens gained 21,505 votes on the regional list in Lothian (7.55%) – by far the best result in Scotland and good enough to be elected 4th on a list of 7 regional MSPs.
This is the fourth election in a row in which a Green MSP has been elected in Lothian and continues the area’s proud reputation of being the part of the UK with the longest parliamentary presence.
A breakdown of votes by constituency shows the Green vote strongest in Edinburgh Central, Southern and Northern & Leith.
