Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be taking place on 28th January at 7pm at St Thomas of Aquins High School (map).
The Edinburgh Green Party AGM is a vital meeting in our year, when members can hold elected officials to account. It is the only time in our branch calendar when we can vote on changes to our constitution, and it is the opportunity to elect the office bearers for the year.
It’s also a chance to celebrate the past year, and look forward to the next! As well as the business of the AGM, we’ll hopefully be having some stalls from local campaigning organisations in Edinburgh and a cake bring and share.
We’re asking all members who are able to bring along cake to share (please make sure it’s labelled for allergies etc). Obviously please don’t worry if you’re unable to bring anything, we’ll make sure there’s enough to go around!
Come along from 7 to meet folk and chat, and the business of the AGM will begin at 7.30. After the AGM we’ll be heading to the Southside Social on Buccleuch Street, with all welcome to join us.
Joining the Edinburgh Greens Committee is a great way to contribute to the work of the branch, and it is vital that the committee is filled with passionate and skilled people (that means you!).
If you want to stand for the Edinburgh Greens Committee, you need to submit a short (no more than 250 words) statement, and you’ll need to be nominated by two other members of the branch. Nominations must be received by 5pm on Monday 25th January. Get more info at GreenTalk, or by emailing email@example.com.
You can find out more about all of the positions, and what it means to be a committee member, here: Standing for Edinburgh Green Party Committee – 2016
Motions must be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org by 12 noon on Monday 18th January. These will then be circulated to members giving everyone the chance to submit amendments.
Please book your place at the AGM here, so we know how many people to expect
