Branch Meeting: Thursday 23 September, 7:30pm

The next branch meeting of the Edinburgh Green Party meeting will be on Thursday 23 September 2010 at 7.30pm at the Quaker Meeting House, 7 Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh (map).

The meeting is to discuss:

  • Branch plan 2010-11;
  • Conference 2010 at Edinburgh Napier University’s Craiglockhart Campus;
  • Standing in Holyrood constituencies.

Committee By-election

To deliver an effective campaign the Edinburgh Green Party needs more help on the committee. To do this we’re holding a by-election. The posts available are described below. If you are interested in doing any of these, the election will take place at the next Local Party meeting on Thursday the 23rd September

Fundraising

A fundraising officer is needed to coordinate work on raising funds for the 2011 and 2012 elections. This individual (or job-share) will be responsible for leading the branches fundraising efforts both through local teams and branch-wide.

Though no direct experience is necessary, good organisational skills and a willingness to get people involved is essential.

Secretary/Vice Convener

The secretary and vice-convener will play a role in the strategic leadership of the branch, assisting the co-conveners with communications and organisation. The role will include a shared responsibility for booking and organising events and for ensuring that a record is kept of decisions made at branch meetings and committee meetings.

Finance assistant.

The job of treasurer is demanding, and the difficulties of changing bank account and signatories have created a significant additional burden for the Treasurer. The finance assistant will support the treasurer in getting signatories changed on the bank account, moving to more online banking and providing information of accounts to the SGP National Treasurer.

Campaigns Officer

There is a vacant position for campaigns officer. This post should provide support for campaigns through identifying appropriate issues, and providing campaign plans and information to candidates, elected representatives and the branch committee.
