During May/June, Steve Burgess attended a class in Welfare Reform, where he discovered that people who’s benefit payments are late are expected to call an expensive 0870 number. Nigel Bagshaw supported a decision not to allow Barratt to construct a housing complex which had been described as “stalinist” and looking like a “weetabix box”. Maggie Chapman has been helping parents and staff at Broughton Primary deal with overcapacity, and Melanie Main has been helping the community of Bruntsfield set up their own Grocer.
