The meeting will be in two parts. Firstly, we will be looking at the recent by-election campaign in Liberton/Gilmerton and we’d like feedback from our members and volunteers. What went right? What didn’t work? What obstacles did we have to overcome? How could the branch as a whole better support the team of volunteers on the ground? A better understanding can only help us in future elections.
After that, we will be discussing some Motions to this year’s Scottish Greens Conference. The deadline for motions is Monday July 8th, but as a branch we like to discuss beforehand the ideas that our members have for motions. This means that when they are presented to the party they can be a bit more polished and thought-through, and some members get ideas for new motions when they are discussing the issues brought up.
As usual, the meeting will take place from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at the Quaker Meeting House, Victoria Terrace (above Victoria Street). We retire for some less informal chat to the Castle Arms afterwards, where everyone is always welcome.
NEW MEMBERS: We will be running a special meet-and-greet session for new members from 7pm, so that you can meet some members of the committee, find out what happens at a branch meeting and ask questions about the structure of the branch or party. Do come along between 7-7.30pm and say hello!
