Green reaction to Edinburgh Budget agreement

As Scotland’s capital agreed its budget, Green councillors welcomed the acceptance of some Green proposals but said investment opportunities had been missed.

Green Finance spokesperson Gavin Corbett said:

“I am pleased that £150,000 extra has been agreed by the Coalition from Green proposals on welfare support and home adaptations but we need to be doing a lot more to help the people worst hit by welfare cuts.

“I also still hope that the Coalition will agree to look further at our £10 million fuel poverty programme from money in reserves and at investment in cycling, school buildings and school playgrounds.”
