Fountainbridge / Craiglockhart: Candidate – Jeni Mackay

jeni.JPGThe Greens have selected Jeni Mackay as the candidate for the Fountainbridge / Craiglockhart Ward in the City Council elections on 3 May 2007.

 Born and bred in the Fountianbridge area, Jeni now lives in Leith and works for the Scottish Civic Forum on a Sustainable Development project.  She is also a temporary Chemicals Campaigner with Friends of the Earth Europe. Jeni holds 8 years of experience Waste/Zero Waste issues and campaigns and more recently was appointed as a director on the Zero Waste Alliance UK board. Jeni has a 10 years of campaigning and lobbying experience with Greenpeace UK and other environmental NGO’s.

Jeni is very keen to see better community consultation and representation in Edinburgh City Council in issues such as waste and planning. She would also like to see an increase in Sustainable Communities and a move towards zero waste in Edinburgh.
