Edinburgh Greens have backed a RICS report which calls for major changes in Scotland’s cities if UK targets on climate change are to be met.
The report calls for 60,000 cars to be removed from Edinburgh’s roads if the city is to reduce carbon emissions by 60% by 2050.
Edinburgh Greens’ co-convenor, Gavin Corbett, said
“While other parties are willing to talk the green talk in this election, only the Greens have policies that will deliver green action.
“Only the Greens will go into the elections in Edinburgh with a pledge to set road traffic reduction targets and build a world-class transport system. The others still seem to want to have their green cake and eat it.”
