Chas Booth was elected as a councillor for Leith in 2012, and was re-elected in 2017 and 2022. He is one of the Edinburgh Green Councillor Group co-convenors and currently holds the Climate Portfolio.
Chas lives in Leith with his wife and two young children. Prior to becoming a councillor, he was a fuel poverty campaigner with a small trade association in Leith. He was a member of the Scottish Government’s fuel poverty forum, advising on policy and implementation.
He has also campaigned for Friends of the Earth Scotland, managed the Edinburgh office of sustainable transport charity Sustrans, worked for the Green Party in the Scottish and European Parliaments, and taught English in Bavaria and Bosnia.
