Melanie Main is the Green Councillor for the ward. She was elected as councillor for Meadows/Morningside in 2012, and re-elected for Morningside in May 2017.
Melanie went to James Gillespies’ High and got her first taste of politics at EUSA (Edinburgh University Students Association). In a former life she ran ‘probably London’s most influential Comedy Club’.
Melanie shops local, is a founding member of Bruntsfield’s Community Greengrocer, ‘Dig-in’, and has become something of an expert in establishing Rights of Way. She lives locally with her husband, daughter and two cats.
