Neil Barnes was the Green candidate for Fauldhouse and the Breich Valley in the 2022 Council Elections.
Neil has been a member of the Scottish Greens for many years. With a career spanning over 30 years in education, public, private, community and health sector roles, Neil has a broad knowledge of issues affecting everyday households, businesses and communities. Working in the energy services sector and volunteering for his local community trust, he is passionate about helping make a difference to people struggling to heat and power their homes and businesses.
When Neil worked for Fauldhouse Community Development Trust, around 10 years ago, he developed a close relationship with the local people, groups and organisations around the town, helping to grow projects, including the refurbishment of Hub. Neil is passionate about making a difference and doing the right thing by local people democratically, and at the same time helping people and the natural world gain from the benefits of community-led climate action.
“If I were fortunate enough to be elected for Fauldhouse and the Breich Valley, I would focus on supporting young people into green jobs, training and work placements, whilst helping those with barriers to employment too.”
