So you want to be a Councillor? Hosted by the Green Councillor Group @ Edinburgh Council Chambers
Nov 21 @ 19:00 – 21:00

So you want to be a councillor? What are the realities of working as an elected member of the City of Edinburgh Council?

This public event offers an insight into the role of councillor, from committee work to helping constituents. It should be of special interest to anyone considering standing in local elections, as well as those wanting a better understanding of the demanding but rewarding role of councillor.

What to expect:

  • A tour of the City Chambers
  • How the Council is structured and operates
  • Join a mock council meeting to debate issues of the day.

This is a free event, but registration is required. Please reserve your place via eventbrite.

This event is fully accessible, but is located in an old building with lifts. Please email in advance if you might need any support with getting around or participating, so that we can arrange a ‘buddy’.

Do you know about The Access To Elected Office Fund, which is delivered by Inclusion Scotland and supported by the Scottish Government?

This fund offers financial assistance to disabled people running for Local Authority and Scottish Parliament seats. See
