Sep 18 @ 19:30 – 21:30

Discussion and planning for action in the event of a UK general election being called.

Open to members only. Doors open 7pm.

A snap general election is looking increasingly likely to take place in the autumn. The Branch Committee has created a ‘Westminster Ready’ plan and we would like to bring our proposal to the full branch for discussion, debate and voting. Though we cannot be sure when an election will happen, it’s important that we are as prepared.

Nominations for prospective candidates are currently open. There is a shortened seven-day nomination period: nominations will close on Monday 16th September at 11.59pm. See email circulated to branch members on 9 September for full details of selection process and proposed constituencies.

The meeting will run in three parts:

  1. Discussing branch strategy for the election
  2. Hustings for candidates
  3. Voting for candidates
