Climate Emergency Bill

A Climate Bill is going through the Scottish Parliament now, but it’s not strong enough and it doesn’t respond to the latest science coming from the IPCC.

The Scottish Greens in Holyrood are calling for a Climate Emergency Bill that catalyses radical emission cuts across the economy, protecting our futures and making Scotland better for everyone.

This meeting will cover a parliamentary perspective on pushing for more radical targets through parliament; consider the effect of rapid decarbonisation on jobs; and look at climate action campaigns and movements locally and at a global level.

We are pleased to have speakers from a number of campaigning organisations and grassroots activists (full details coming shortly).

There will also be breakout sessions for group discussion on campaign actions.

  • Doors open at 7pm, with the event beginning at 7.30pm
  • Party members and non-members all very welcome
  • There will be an activity area for children.
