This meeting is for members only. Doors open 7pm.
1. The Scottish Green Party Standing Orders Committee (SOC) have produced a draft for a new party constitution. The draft constitution has been sent to SGP branches, representative groups and national committees for consideration; comment and feedback to be returned to SOC, before a final version is presented for adoption by Conference.
The draft constitution reflects discussions around what changes are needed to our institutions, structures and practices so that we can become more effective and yet operate in ways that fit with our basic principles. This meeting will be our first chance as a Branch to explore the draft constitution.
New organisational structures and processes are required for the party to function effectively. The more involved members are in determining what the new processes and structures should be, the better fit we will be as an organisation to move forward over the next decade.
We will also be looking at the draft SGP Code of Conduct, feeding back to SOC.
2. Edinburgh Green councillors have reviewed their Standing Orders and have proposed some revisions, which requires branch approval. Click for the Green councillor group draft SO document to be reviewed and ratified.
If you can’t attend this meeting but have comments on either document, please email edinburgh@scottishgreens.org.uk by 17 January to feed into the discussion.

New Members event
19:00 – 20:00
This event is to welcome new members; or if you’ve been a member for a while and would like to get more involved, this event is a good starting place. There will be a presentation about how the party works and what you can do as a member; a chance to meet some of our elected representatives; and time to chat with members from your local team.
All members, new and long-standing, are invited. Come with questions about the party, the branch and your local area team. We hope you will then stay on for the second part of tonight’s event.
