Candidate selection process review @ Quaker Meeting House
Mar 13 @ 19:00 – 21:00

The Edinburgh Green Party is currently reviewing our Local Authority selection process – the way in which our candidates are selected to stand for election in the Edinburgh City Council elections, ahead of 2022.

We want to hear from our members about how we can improve things to make the selection process easier to understand, a better experience for candidates, and result in fair and representative results. Currently this review is focusing on the City of Edinburgh elections, but we welcome engagement from members in West Lothian, and are also happy to run similar discussions about the West Lothian selection process should there be interest.

Any member can contact us at greenselectionthoughts@gmail.com, and we are also hosting two consultation events which we would love members to attend. At the events, we will be talking through the principles for our selection process, and hearing members’ views on potential changes. Both events will have the same content, and we hope that by repeating the event at different times everyone will have the opportunity to attend.

Any proposed changes will be brought to our AGM in June, so all members will have plenty of time to scrutinise proposals and vote on any changes.
