Fountainbridge / Craiglockhart

Welcome to Fountainbridge / Craiglockhart local Green team

We are made up of local Green Party members and other green or community-minded people in the council ward of Fountainbridge / Craiglockhart.

Your councillor

The Fountainbridge / Craiglockhart Greens’ spokeperson and councillor is Gavin Corbett, who was elected in May 2012 and re-elected in May 2017.  Gavin serves as the party’s finance and budget spokesperson on the City of Edinburgh Council.

Gavin has lived in Shandon in the heart of the area for 20 years, with his wife and two sons. Originally from Ayrshire, Gavin works for the housing charity Shelter Scotland. He has been a community councillor, chair of his children’s school, the main founder of Shandon Local Food Group and a campaigner for responsible car-parking. He is a local scout leader and is also active with Friends of Harrison Park.

The local team

We aim to be an informal group but we have three “office-bearers”:

  • Gavin Corbett – Convenor
  • Clare Forteath – Secretary
  • Dave Owen – Communications

Get involved:  We welcome new members and supporters to our local team. There are lots of ways to get involved. Can you help deliver printed materials in your area? Would you like to join one of our campaigns, or help with fundraising? Click here for details of our meetings and events in the ward and throughout Edinburgh; or email us at fountainbridge-craiglockhart@edinburghgreens.org.uk.

We’d love to hear from you – please get in touch!

Join, donate, volunteer

You don’t have to be a Green Party member to be part of the local group, but of course we would urge all our supporters to consider joining. To join the Scottish Green Party, click here.

We always need help with funds for campaigning. Please donate if you can; or if you have a fundraising idea, email us.

If you’d like to volunteer more widely in the city, click here for more information.
