Leith Walk has a Green councillor, Susan Rae, who was elected on 4th May 2017. In 2015, Susan secured the highest ever Green by-election vote in Leith Walk. A founder of Inchkeith Residents Association/Community Allotments, she has worked with CEC’s Tenant’s Advisory Group, is a Director of SCVO Credit Union and a Stonewall Ally. As a co-ordinator of Greens Persevere Group she played a key role in the Leith Walk Tardis Project, helping cement its identity as an enviable community hub.

An activist and feminist with a record of campaigning on local, national and international issues, Susan has campaigned with Women’s Aid, Women 50/50, Edinburgh Toys for Gaza and Edinburgh Anti-Cuts groups fighting fuel poverty, poll tax, bedroom tax, council cuts and austerity. You can contact her on via Twitter, Facebook or susan.rae@edinburghgreens.org.uk.

We’re always looking for volunteers and donations to help us make Edinburgh a Greener and Fairer City. If you’d like to get involved in campaigns in Leith Walk, please contact Susan, or campaign@edinburghgreens.org.uk
