Alys Mumford was elected the Green councillor for the Portobello/Craigmillar ward in the 2022 Council Elections.
After living in Edinburgh for over a decade, Alys currently lives in Leith and is a regular commuter to Portobello and Craigmillar where she works, swims, and gets involved in local action.
Alys works for a women’s equality charity, and also has a background in working for climate change and anti-austerity charities. She currently chairs the Women 5050 campaign for equal representation in politics, and sits on the board of Tripod, a collective providing training in social justice issues.
Alys has previously stood for the Green party in the Scottish Parliament elections, and is excited at the chance to make a real difference to people in Edinburgh as a local councillor.
